Initially served as surgeon of the Greys, appointed Surgeon of the 4th N.C. Regiment, eventually transferred to the 14th N.C. Regiment where he served as surgeon until the end of the War. - Buried in the First Presbyterian Church graveyard behind the Greensboro Historical Museum in Greensboro, N.C.
